I used to only read one book at a time, but more recently I usually have 2-4 on the go at a time, almost always different genres, and I find it helps keep things interesting. Of course, there are times when I get hooked on a series or an author and that becomes my only focus.
At this time I am reading the following books and will provide reviews upon completion:
Heart of the Machine by Richard Yonck is one of the many books I have lined up as research for my current Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel (work in progress). The book deals with Artificial Emotional Intelligence and what it means for future human/AI interactions…think Siri or Alexa but they adjust themselves based on emotional cues from you, not just predicted patterns. Obviously that is a major over simplification but I will give more details when I complete my review for this book.
Plato’s The Republic has long been on my TBR (To Be Read) pile. I love philosophy and I love the way it makes me think on a deeper more purposeful level. This read is purely for pleasure. Who knows, maybe there might be some philosophical blog posts in the future…
History Brought Alive is a company that specializes in providing works with concise, factual and easily digested information from history and mythology. Available also as audiobooks, they are great for anyone who wants to dig deeper into ancient history or a particular mythology. I am super pumped to be reading about Ancient Egypt. This is not the first book I have read by this company and I hope it won’t be the last. They even have versions geared specifically for children which is awesome in this age of e-learning and more people finding themselves home-schooling. I received my copy in exchange for an honest review from Book Sirens. This book is also one I am reading purely for my own enjoyment and love of all things historical.
